Court House Exchange

This was such a delicious dinner! I had the pork tenderloin platter and my husband had the Mac n Cheese Burger! Both were absolutely delicious! Worth the wait and service was all great! Highly recommend! (Sorry for the partially eaten food, it was seriously so good I couldn't wait!!!) I can't wait to go back!

We have been patrons at The Courthouse Exchange for special occasions and a couple of other times, so why don't we go more often, when we want somewhere other than our normal haunts, is a good question. We have always enjoyed both great food and service there. We are going to make a promise to ourselves, to drive however far, to go back much more often!Thanks to the staff on behalf of all of us, and see you soon!

Excellent service. Wonderful waiter. Good food. The best mushrooms I have ever eaten. The batter was the bomb. My husband love his club sandwich and fries were good too. Will go back for sure!!

The service and food was amazing. Went for my birthday because I always have fried pickles on my day. They didn't disappoint me.

First time and we were very impressed. The staff was friendly and the food superb! My wife had the Bailiffs Chicken and I the stroganoff. Both were amazing, and the fried pickle appetizer was great. We will be going back.

The food was delicious. I ordered the Truman triple stack burger with fries. It was cooked perfect. The onion rings that came on it were delicious. My wife ordered the bacon chicken ranch sandwich, she loved it. The only setback was, we had to wait longer for our order, because of the amount of take out orders they had.

Food was surprisingly incredible. Service left something to be desired. It was late lunchtime on a weekday so understandably restaurant was slow, but so was our server. She was very nice though. I got the chicken tenders and was expecting some basic cheap meal, but again was surprised it was absolutely delicious. Same for the wing appetizer.

Every community has a place that is loved and supported by the locals, and Courthouse Exchange is one of those places. The food is your traditional diner or cafe selection, and it really doesn't stand out because of quality or serving size. The atmosphere is definitely unique (it's a dark basement and full of character), and the staff is friendly. But the real draw, I think, is that you feel like part of a community when you visit. The Courthouse Exchange has a vibe like those places in the movies where the townsfolk gather to talk about Friday night's game or next week's weather forecast.

Tasty eats! Definitely recommend the 3-trail burger! Great evening and chill lighting on the patio. Not the speediest service tonight but friendly folks, for sure! Good vibes, overall.

The spot is first-rate and broad, the menu was delightful and the rates were very fair. fast, efficient service and very amiable waiters. Recommended.

This a best kept secret in Independence. It's in a basement with an outdoor patio. Very generous portions with big slices of triple layer chocolate cake. Super yummy!

We went here after visiting the Truman Library on the recommendation of the docent there. It is right across from the Courthouse and is below street level. Interesting ambience that is casual and welcoming to families with small children. The place was packed during a mid-week lunch hour! The serving portions are quite ample and the prices reasonable. Their pork tenderloin sandwich was a BIG hit with the guys and the sandwiches were huge. Another ordered the meatloaf and left her plate clean. I ordered the Oregon Trail Burger and was more than I could eat. This place is NOT for vegetarians or those on restrictive diets. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Chicken fried steak was fabulous....hubby ate the entire plate of food. The Kansas City Strip had good seasoning and reminded me of one from a chargrill steak house.. good potato too. The Manhattan didnt disappoint!

Been meaning to get here for a while. What a great hidden gem in downtown Independence. Service was great, food was quick and also great. If you're looking for a good burger in the square, this is a perfect spot.

I love this restaurant! They prepare good dishes, their menu is large, The chief cook in that place is a professional, I enjoy very much trying all their food. The food is consistently good, the service towards the visitors is efficient. I go often to this place and I was never unsatisfied. I recommend it to all.

Great place to eat. Haven't been in a year but love it good food and awesome staff.
